Iraqi Banking Sector Development Conference - Erbil

Under the golden sponsorship of International Development Bank and with the theme “Towards Development, Stability, and Investment,” the Iraqi Banking Sector Development Conference - Erbil 2022 was held.

The conference was attended by a distinguished group of officials, including Dr. Basim Abdul Hadi representing the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Kazem Namak, Director General of the Central Bank/ Kurdistan Branch, Mr. Ribaz Hamlan, Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Dr. Hemin Hawrami, Deputy Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, Dr. Jotyar Adel, Representative of the Prime Minister and Spokesperson for the Kurdistan Government, Dr. Anwar Jawhar, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Omid Khushnaw, Governor of Erbil, Mr. Sarwar Hawari, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Hassan Al-Akili, Chairman of the Securities Commission, Mr. Wadi Al-Hindal, President of the Private Banks Association, and representatives from GIZ, USAID, along with various companies, banks, investors, and businessmen.

The conference served as a platform for bringing together business leaders and banking sector officials with government and decision-makers to discuss the latest developments and strategies for advancing and developing the banking sector in Iraq, with a special focus on the Kurdistan Region.
