    The International Development Bank sponsors the 47th Baghdad International Fair

    The International Development Bank concluded its active participation in the 47th session of the Baghdad International Fair, whose activities were launched during the month of January and with diamond sponsorship. This exhibition is considered one of the most important economic events in Iraq and the region, as the Bank expressed its pleasure in inviting its customers and all those interested in the field of banking services to visit its pavilion located in Hall No. 15, in addition to being present in the United Arab Emirates pavilion under the umbrella of the “Together” initiative between the Bank and the United Arab Emirates Union. Emirates Rooms in Hall No. 19, during the period from 10 to 19 January, where visitors to the bank’s pavilion had the opportunity to discover the latest banking services and investment opportunities.

    In this context, Mr. Saad Faiq Abdul Aziz, Managing Director of the International Development Bank, expressed his optimism about the future of the banking sector in Iraq, noting that the year 2024 will be decisive for the banking sector thanks to the support and vision led by the Central Bank of Iraq for the banking sector. He explained that the bank today seeks to adopt initiatives that contribute to the development of this sector by providing modern systems and technologies, and effectively expanding its branch network by opening new branches inside Iraq and expanding outside it as well.


    Mr. Hani Idris, Regional Director of the Business Bank branch in Dubai, added that the International Development Bank plays a prominent role at the regional level, as it is considered the first private Iraqi bank to open a branch in the United Arab Emirates, as this step strengthens Iraqi-Emirati relations, and is embodied in The “Together” initiative to strengthen the economic and trade bridge between the UAE and Iraq, with the aim of strengthening a strong partnership that contributes to building a promising economic future for both parties.

    For its part, the management of the Marketing Department at the International Development Bank confirmed that the influx of customers and visitors to the pavilion was amazing, noting that there were activities and competitions organized during the days of the exhibition, which included drawing prizes that were distributed to visitors to the Baghdad International Fair.

    In this context, visitors expressed their admiration for the wonderful organization of events and competitions, highlighting the positive interaction and active participation of attendees. These events contributed to enhancing communication between the bank and its audience, and enhancing awareness of its services and available investment opportunities.

    It is noteworthy that the International Development Bank was established in 2011, and currently operates 28 branches covering most parts of Iraq, in addition to a representative office in Lebanon and a branch of the Business Bank of the United Arab Emirates in the Emirate of Dubai. The bank adopts the latest systems, digital technologies and banking technology that keep pace with its counterparts in countries around the world. The bank also has major partnerships with international electronic payment companies Visa and MasterCard, which has contributed to achieving a large share of the volume of localization of salaries of public and private sector employees.

    The bank has also succeeded in installing approximately 400 ATMs throughout Iraq. In addition, the bank thus acquired a large market share in Iraq of the total commercial financing and comprehensive banking operations, and won many international awards, including the award for the best bank in business results achieved by MasterCard International, and the award for the fastest growing bank in Iraq. Presented by the International Awards Foundation in Dubai, the Sustainable Development Award in Human Resources and Leading Banking Practices, the Excellence in Prudent Management Award, the Most Developed and Innovative Bank Award presented by the Union of Arab Banks, and the Excellence Award in Diversity of Electronic Services presented by the World Union of Arab Bankers.
